His Story
Matthew Hsieh attends the University of California Berkeley majoring in Business Administration under the HAAS School of Business. He is from Orange County, California and has participated and grown an interest in entrepreneurship and collaboration with others. He is constantly persisting in helping those around him grow and loves learning along the way.
Particularly interested in the geriatric population, he is a Care Ambassador of the Asian American Pacific Islander research and education in Alzheimer’s disease, in which he serves as a community leader in raising awareness of education and advocating by participating in and promoting the program.
He also has been part of Model United Nations (MUN) from 2020-2025 and was awarded, the Best Delegate award, Most Audible Speaker at Korean American Coalition (KAC) conference in 2021, Honorable Delegate at Yale MUN in 2022, and Best Delegate at UCLA MUN in 2022. He served as a chair at KAC MUN in 2022 and 2023. He was the bronze medalist in the Intramural Tournament 2022 through Irvine Valley College.
Matthew was a chapter founder and president of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and a Co-captain in his robotic team in high school. He has had a joyful experience by participating in numerous financial activities involving entrepreneurship. He also started a math club in his school. He also does academic tutoring at school to help other friends or students. Aiding those who are struggling or helping out others is one of his favorite things to do. In his spare time, he loves to play clarinet, piano, guitar, biking, running, weight lifting, and play video games.
He is proud to be a U.S. Congressional Award Gold Medalist.
